In The Immensity

I walk streets greeting people I know, and some I don’t.
I loll in cafes, with lively friends and others, but also enjoy the quiet before they arrive.
I sip drinks with a friend, sometimes a new acquaintance, in a dim bar with tunes in the background.
In my earnest living and sometime tranquility.

We talk about our essence, true self, or soul. Is this a mirage of words seeking a meaning? Or my psyche wanting to make sense of life, in the midst of billions? As I do what I do.

Incomprehensible reality surges around me — a wisp of primal energy.
An entity, for a moment in time, like everyone and everything else, in the cosmos.
Absorbed in the immensity of existence.
